My biography (Lucien Guillaume)
I was born on the 18th of August
1965 in the southern part of the island of Haity. I started out in the
wonderful world of art at the age of 15 in a workshop near my parent's
house, and which was directed by Madam Bernard Surgier.
She came from the south of France,
next to Nice. She brought along many professors in our country.

She gave me the possibility to conduct
a first exposé at the art museum (musée d'Art Haïtien).
After the exposé, during
four years, while following courses in mecanics I pursued my formation
in painting.
After a few years,
I received an ivitation from the government of Haity to continue my formation
in Technical Art at the Zin Art Foundation.
Just after in 1991, I arrived at
Saint Martin on the 27th of September.
I started exposing at
the Marigot Museum, the Municipal Librairy and at the Town-Hall. In addition,
I have participated in a calendar competition with the tourism office.
Since, I have been giving Art Painting
and Sculture courses to youths and adults alike.
I have been living in
Saint Martin ever since, I enjoy being on this island very much and hope
to share my culture with whosoever who wish to. |
